About the Concert

Our 45th anniversary season kicks off with a performance of one of Rossini's greatest choral works which, despite the title, is neither small nor solemn, ranging from hushed intensity to boisterous high spirits, with the rhythmic vitality for which Rossini was famous. Originally scored for accompaniment by two pianos and a harmonium, we will be performing it with accordion.  A rare treat!  With Michèle Bogdanowicz (soprano), Marion Newman (mezzo-soprano), Michel Schrey (tenor), Luc Lalonde (bass), Jean Desmarais (piano) and Alexander Sevastian (accordion).
